"When I initially looked into the UC Davis Rowing Team, I was very drawn to the idea of being outside and on the water, but I don’t think I realized how much rowing would come to impact me mentally, push me physically, and change the way I think about what is possible. The team is filled with some of the most dedicated and driven women I have ever met. After coming to the first practice and falling in love with the sport, joining rowing has been one of the best decisions I have made at UC Davis. I have never looked back since!"

"When I first came to Davis I knew absolutely no one and I was interested in trying something new and challenging that could keep me active but still be fun. I found a flyer for the info meeting for rowing and ended up joining the team. This team has become my home away from home and joining has been one of the best decisions of my life."

"When I first moved up to Davis, I wanted to explore every new opportunity available to me and journey down a path to find myself as an individual. I never played any organized sports in high school, so I saw an opportunity with rowing to be a part of a team, learn something new while everyone else was also starting from scratch, and challenge myself to do something different. I didn’t really know just how challenging rowing would be when I first joined, but I don’t know who I would be now without my team and this unique sport."

"I joined rowing because I am from the coast and missed being near water, and I wanted to be able to be in a competitive atmosphere that pushed me mentally and physically. I also wanted to meet new people and try a sport that I hadn’t done before."
