Head Coach : David Hammond
David, also known as Dave, started rowing in his freshman year of high school at Everett Rowing Association in Washington, continuing as an athlete through college at Orange Coast College and Washington State University. His coaching background is also at Everett, where he coached novice and varsity women, and served as Head Coach of the program during the summers. Dave was deeply influenced by his novice coach, Bill Clifford, who taught him hard work and dedication, permanently changing his life and leading to taking up coaching as a profession. Beyond his career as an athlete and coach, Dave has also worked to refurbish used boats at Pocock Racing Shells. Fall 2016 kickstarts his first season with UC Davis Women's Rowing.
"Coaching is my chosen profession due to its profound effect on my life. I hope to be a positive effect on my athletes’ lives in the way my novice coach was to me. I deeply believe in the continuation of the great culture the athletes and their predecessors have created at UCD. I'm thrilled about the opportunity to coach the UC Davis women this year, and I am very excited to get the season started!"
Novice Coach : Teegan Gatta
Teegan is no stranger to UC Davis Women's rowing. She began her rowing career here at UC Davis as an athlete. After four years of competing, Teegan found herself back at the boathouse as the novice coach in the fall of 2015, when the team was in need of a coach. In the 2015-2016 season, she coached the Women's Novice 8+ to win the gold and title of national champions at ACRA.
